Biomedical electronics, sensing elements, and materials

Biomedical electronics combines biomedicine and electronic engineering, microminiaturizing the testing and bionic technologies that require assistance from large equipment in the past. The microminiaturized equipment can be applied in everyday life, simplifying the procedure of medical testing. Biomedical electronics is the integration of interdisciplinary technology, including electronic circuit designs, novel sensing elements, and material developments. Research teams in the Institute of Electrical Engineering have accomplished numerous excellent outcomes in various fields, including neuroscience, soft materials, microelectromechanical technologies, supersonic elements, and electrochemical analysis ICs. We combine the electrode, flexible materials, and IC systems to increase the sensitivity, conformability, and multimodal real-time detectivity of sensors. These sensors can be applied to precision medicine and the sports technology industry. On the other hand, novel supersonic technologies can be applied in cancer monitoring and treatment. We integrate interdisciplinary research teams and open new opportunities and applications in biomimetics, smart medicine, and healthcare.
